TB Testing Locations
Our caregivers are required to undergo pre-employment TB testing. Candidates may opt to get this testing done at any IDOH approved facility. We have put together this list as a resource but it is not all-inclusive. Please do your own research and select the best provider for yourself.
Skin Test (TST/PPD) — Two visits required. A tuberculosis (TB) skin test involves injecting a small amount of purified protein derivative under the top layer of the inner forearm to check for past exposure to TB bacteria. After 48 to 72 hours, a healthcare provider measures any firm swelling at the site to determine if the result is positive or negative.

Chest X-Ray
Caregivers who have previously tested positive and cannot do a skin test will need a chest X-ray. Individuals who don't want any immunization, can also opt for a chest x-ray. There will need to be medical form to accompany the chest x-ray that meets agency requirements. These x-rays can be done through your primary care doctor or through any urgent care center that provides imaging.
