Caregiver Uniform Guidelines

The dress code is enforced from day one. New hires are not able to start until they can confirm they have nursing scrubs to wear for all their upcoming shifts.

Required Scrub Uniforms
Caregiver staff are expected to wear nursing scrubs while working their caregiving shift. These need to be clean, ironed, properly fitting and either unbranded or branded with the Careworthy logo.

Staff cannot wear nursing scrubs, jackets, t-shirts, or other clothing that is branded in any way with another company’s or school's brand, insignia or information.

Scrub Exceptions
In addition to nursing scrubs, caregiving staff are allowed to wear Careworthy branded apparel sold or provided by the company. This could include a company-branded golf shirt, tennis shirt, polo shirt or a T-shirt. These can be worn with khaki docker style casual pants.

SFC Caregivers
If a family caregiver lives in the same home as the client and working on the SFC waiver, then they are exempt from the uniform requirements. However, family caregivers that live in separate households must wear scrubs to every shift, in the same manner as all other employees.

Acceptable Footwear
Caregivers can wear sneakers, nurse shoes or crocs, in action mode only during shifts. Other footwear, such as sandals, flip flops, heels, and house slippers are not acceptable.

Hygiene Expectations

To maintain a professional environment, employees are expected to practice good hygiene, be clean, well-groomed, and appropriately dressed at all times. Clean and proper attire is to be worn. Proper attire is defined as properly laundered clothing, with no odors, no stains, no holes or no rips in clothing. Clothing should not be tight as to impede mobility. Clothing should not be too loose as to cause a person to appear unkempt.
